The need for the creation of a new board for the overall development of the BSDB Area, the government has developed the Chitradurga Center to develop and implement projects for agriculture related activities such as agriculture, horticulture, forestry, animal husbandry and rural development in these areas. ಉ.ಎಲ್.ಬಿ.ಎಸ್.: 94 ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು Date: 07-10-1994 and ಕೃತೋಇ: 176:ಕೃಯೋಕಾ:93 ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು Created on 04-01-1995 with effect from 26-10-1995. As per Government Order No: 244 ಕೃಯೋಕಾ:2000 the functions of this Board shall be transferred from the Agriculture Department to the Department of Planning.
As per the notification, 08 districts of the state are under the jurisdiction of the Bayaluseeme Area Development Board and after reintegration of the districts, six districts will be incorporated - Bagalkot, Belgaum, Bangalore Rural, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Dharwad Gadag, Hassan, Haveri, Kolar, Ramanagara Tumkur & Vijayapura, The 70 assembly constituencies in 57 taluks covering 14 districts are subject to the jurisdiction of the Board.
